Le TS-251A vous fait bénéficier de l'innovant port USB QuickAccess grâce auquel vous pouvez procéder à la première installation du NAS en un clin d'œil puis accéder directement aux données et fichiers stockés sur le NAS. Ce NAS prend également en charge deux modes de transmission supplémentaires : le mode NAS Ethernet et le mode SAN iSCSI basé sur des blocs.
